Hard Work

Hi all you bloggers,
Hope that this week finds you all well and staying cool!

henever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, "Certainly, I can!" Then get busy and find out how to do it.
- Theodore Roosevelt

Have you ever been ask if you know how to do something that you have never done before?  What do you do?

I am that person who likes to be able to do a little of everything so I always tell the person who is asking that I have never actually done that before but would love the opportunity to learn.  If you read my profile you will see that (unfortunately I guess) I tend to not stay in the same place for more than a few years.  It seems like after a few years I loose interest in the repetitiveness of whatever position it is and feel the need to learn something new and move on.  All of my jobs have been in some type of management or ownership but after a few years I get that crazy urge to move on to something new.  I have always worked hard since when you are learning a new craft you need to put in that extra effort to get it right and be the best at it.  Now I am attending school to become a nurse and I am much older than during the years of moving from skill to skill.  I know that it is definitely time to stick to something that I enjoy and build up a little retirement.  What I find with the nursing field that really attracts me is that there are so many different areas to attack that if I get board with one I can learn a little more and move about in the same hospital.  When I spent 3 years in Panama I loved helping the doctor.  It was like going back into time to when you saw on doctor and he knew a little about everything.  He did not refer you to someone who specialized in that area but instead treated you.  I know that in the states we have much better medical care because we are referred to specialists but when you are out in the middle of nowhere with no one to help you other than this one doctor you are very, very blessed to have him. I worked very hard there with a seven day a week schedule and someone who was very anxious to teach.  The doctor could see that I wanted to learn and so me was willing to teach me many things.  I can assist with sewing up your machete cut, I can help deliver your baby.  I can identify many different types of skin infections and treat them.  I can give you breathing treatments, and perform an EKG.  I can assist with a sonogram or pelvic exam and believe me the list goes on and on. I love to work with people who are willing to share their knowledge and teach. This quest for knowledge is what has always lead me to enjoy hard work.

Welcome Everyone

My name is Monica Rodriguez. I am a mother of four great kids ages 26, 18, 17, and 11.  I also have 2 beautiful grand babies. For many years I worked in management.  I started years ago managing realty offices, next movie theatres, resturants and retail stores.   I moved on the business ownership with a beauty shop, clothing store and video store. When I sold the businesses I married and stayed home for a few years to raise my family. Loving lots of kids in the house we started taking in foster kids.  For a few years we took care of newborns who were drug addicted.  Wanting to do more with my life our family packed up everything and moved to Panama, Central America to work at a medical mission.  It was there that I found my love for the medical field which leads me back to where I am now.  I am in my second year at Crafton preparing to transfer to SBVC next year for nursing.  I really enjoy school but wish I would have got it right the first time many years ago.

I love crafting and am happy to say that I finally found a way to incorporate this love into a money making venture.  I now own a little home business named "Reel Girls".  As you can see from the posted pictures I make badge reels for people who wear name badges for work.  I also have a line of necklaces made of bottlecaps which are really cute because the designs are on magnetic buttons which can be interchanged with the touch of a button. lol

Hope you enjoy my blog, and don't forget me when you need that special one of a kind gift!
